SHARON DIANE (HUMAN) ELLIOT
Dec 7, 1943 - April 23, 2017

Sharon's family are sad to announce the passing of their beloved Mother, Wife and Sister at the young age of 73; peacefully in her home in Lac du Bonnet, with her family at her side on April 23rd.
Sharon was born in Winnipeg, and moved to Morden at a young age where she grew up in a busy, loving home full of good food, music, pets, friends and family. Sharon's mother loved children and accepted many foster children during her life; Sharon loved the extended family, and stayed in touch with many of them over the years.
After the completion of high school in Morden Sharon accepted a bookkeeper position with the Morden Creamery and excelled in customer relations and serving the public.
Sharon met Jack in Grade 11 and they were married on May 9th 1964, when they started their life together back in Winnipeg; Jack worked for the Royal Bank and Sharon transferred into Modern Dairies.
Jack's banking career led them to move 15 times over the next 35 years, and they picked up friends and experiences in towns all over Manitoba and NW Ontario.
Sharon and Jack had 2 daughters, Keri born in Selkirk (1966) and Lisa born in Russell (1968). Sharon always described her two girls as the JOY of her life and they made her life complete.
Sharon's consistent hobby over the years was playing piano, which she played well, by ear. She enjoyed decorating their many homes, as well as many craft projects, flower arranging, needlework, crochet and quilting.
She also loved the outdoors and with her family spent all their summers in their tent or trailer fishing and camping; she always said she was a better fisherman than hubby Jack.
Sharon was very active in community service work over the years, notably Kinnettes. She was the Charter President of a new club in Russell in 1969, and served as an active member of the Dryden club, the Keewatin club, the Fort Francis club and in 1982 the Dauphin Kinnette club awarded her the Highest Honor in Kinnettes, presenting her with the Elizabeth Rodgers Life Membership award for exceptional service to her club and community, the first awarded in Manitoba and only the second awarded in Canada.
Jack took an early retirement in the mid 90's and built a new "dream" house on the waterfront of the Winnipeg River in the Lac du Bonnet area where Sharon loved to sit and look out at the water and all the bird activities. They started a love affair with Hawaii in the 1980's and after retirement they purchased a condo in Waikiki, where they spent their winter months and acquired a whole new set of friends as well as retaining their old ones.
Sharon was always known as the "hostess with the most-est" as she loved cooking, finding new hors d'oerves to make, hosting dinner parties...so much so that sometimes people would ask how to get on her invite list!
Sharon was also a big animal lover and had many well-loved dogs in her life, including Tess who passed in 2014.
Sharon had many close friends over the years and in two towns started a regular girlfriend lunch club. She was always well known for her exceptional hospitality, enduring kindness and giving nature.

Sharon was pre-deceased by her parents Bert (1971) and Maude (1998) Human and two brothers Keith (1984) and Gary (2012) and one sister Vicky Gurdebeke (2012).
She has left to mourn her husband Jack (they would have celebrated 53 years of marriage on May 9th), daughters Keri Elliot (Perry Stinson) of Lac du Bonnet and Lisa Elliot (husband Neil Belcher) of Winnipeg, sister Dorothy Andrews of Morden (and her family Debbie Nelson, Pat and Nola Andrews, Michael Andrews and related families), and sister Tracey Human of Toronto.

At Sharon's wish there will be no formal funeral as such, but on Friday April 28th at 3pm there will be a Celebration of Life in the Wiebe Funeral Chapel one mile west of Morden, with light lunch and refreshments served, open to all family, friends and acquaintances. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Manitoba Cancer Care or a Charity of choice.
