Anne Budlong, age 100, peacefully passed on Wednesday April 26, 2017 in Flin Flon, MB.
Anne was born on a farm near Veregin, SK on June 9, 1916. She was predeceased by her husband Henry in 1993. She leaves behind her children June, Allan (Eileen) and Richard (Loretta) and her grandchildren Don, Ron, Joanne, Christopher, Meredith, Paul and Leon.
Anne's early days were spent in Kamsack, SK. But life brought her to Flin Flon and a waitress job at the Northern Cafe where she met Henry and married in 1938.
Anne raised her three children and grandson, Don, with a strict hand and a big heart. She loved to laugh, gossip, dance, bake and play bingo. She ruled her little section of Hill Street for many years and always freely voiced her opinion on everything from the way the streets were cleaned to how the onions were displayed at the Co-Op. But, she made sure that no guest to her house ever left without a cup of tea or something to eat (and lucky ones may have enjoyed her cabbage rolls, baked beans, or homemade bread and buns).
Anne's family would like to thank all of the staff at the Flin Flon Personal Care Home and the Northern Lights Manor. We are comforted in knowing she had such attentive and loving care.
A service will not be held at this time. The family will gather at a later date when Anne is laid to rest beside Henry at Ross Lake Cemetery.
